A nonprofit community group dedicated to promoting the visual and performing arts, the ArtCentre of Plano brings a wide range of cultural experiences to residents and visitors. Its gallery display area showcases works by regional artists on a temporary basis and the attached 160-seat theater is a popular venue for local performances groups running productions. To get locals involved, the center sponsors classes in all kinds of artistic forms, including clay, photography and mosaic decoration. It is positioned right in downtown, just blocks from the Interurban Railway Museum and the sizable Collin Creek Mall shopping center.
